Texas Dove Hunting in Archer County

DOVE HUNTING - Archer & Young County 2010
Each September, I host dove hunts on my fields in Archer County. There are several big sunflower fields and some are special planted with additional sunflowers and other seed plants.

In August, strips are plowed to give the doves a place
to land and to expose the dirt.
Doves love open dirt spots to land and they also like to pick out seeds in the dirt. One of the best techniques I would recommend to anyone with a dove field is to plow strips through the field on Aug 10 and Aug 23.
The doves love fresh plowed ground. That's a fact.

I cater to groups as well as individuals on the dove hunts. Dove Season is September and October plus the new winter dove season. Lots of dove hunting !

HUNTING FEES & LODGING

Starting 2010, the cost is $ 150 for a SEASON PASS
and Day Hunts are $ 50 per day.

The Pipeliner Motel is 13 miles from the ranch.
There is also a house for rent in Archer City, but you have to secure it early each year for opening weekend.
The house will sleep 10 men. Snooze and you lose.
I also have lodging available at my ranch house.
$ 30 per person for one night. $ 50 for two nights.

Day Hunt prices drop starting Sept. 15.

DOVE HUNTING
ON STOCK TANKS & GRAVEL FLATS

I also offer dove hunting on other parts of the ranch, other than sunflower fields. Stock tanks, like the one at left, get a lot of dove action in the late mornings and in the hot part of the day. There are several really good stock tanks and gravel areas to hunt.

The rates for hunting stock tanks and gravel flats is only $ 30.00 a day anytime. Sept 15 - Oct 15

10X RANCH - DOVE HUNTING 2010
Located 10 miles South of The Middle Fork Ranch, The 10X Ranch also has good dove hunting. Exciting wing shooting can be found many places at the ranch. We know where the doves are and will take you there. Tree lines next to wheat and sunflower fields. Stock Tanks. Gravel flats and grass fields. The ground will be plowed in the wheat fields prior to the start of dove hunting. Enjoy afternoon wing shooting on stock tanks. Gravel flats are good morning spots.
Season Pass Hunting = $ 150 per person and you can hunt 4 different fields located 10 miles apart from each other.
